We’ve been busy in Livingston and Overton County lately, and I want to share what’s happening, because the work we’re doing there is just one piece of the bigger picture across all 14 counties we serve.
Listening in Livingston
In partnership with the Livingston-Overton County Chamber of Commerce, we recently hosted a town hall-style gathering with local business owners. Entrepreneurs from motels to blueberry farms to marketing firms showed up, shared openly about their challenges, and told us what kind of support would really move the needle.
We heard about the usual suspects, rising costs, staffing, cash flow, marketing, technology, but also about opportunities: mentorship, training, stronger networks, and community connection.
That’s what drives us at The Biz Foundry: listening first, then building programs that respond to real needs.
What’s Coming Next in Overton County
Because of what we heard, here’s what we’re rolling out in Livingston:
- Startup Business Bootcamp — kicking off October 2. This program is designed for anyone with a business idea or a young business ready to grow. We’ll cover sales, marketing, finances, operations — the whole foundation.
- Powered By Her: Lunch & Learn — happening November 12, 12–1pm at the Chamber. Becca Duncan, AI Trainer 101, will lead a hands-on session on how women entrepreneurs can start using AI right now in their businesses. Lunch is on us, but seats are limited!
We Serve 14 Counties — Let’s Bring This to You
Now, here’s the important part: what we’re doing in Overton County is not a one-off. We serve 14 counties across the Upper Cumberland, and our goal is to bring this kind of support to every single one.
